Gartner Positions Wombat Security as “Leader” in Magic Quadrant for Security Awareness Computer-Based Training Vendors

Pittsburgh, PA – October 22, 2014 – Wombat Security Technologies (Wombat), a leading provider of cyber security awareness and training solutions, today announced Gartner, Inc. has positioned Wombat as a “Leader” in its 2014 Magic Quadrant for Security Awareness Computer-Based Training Vendors report.* The report evaluated 19 different vendors on 14 criteria and placed Wombat in the Leader's quadrant. The full report is available at no charge from Wombat on their website at http://info.wombatsecurity.com/wombat-named-a-leader.

“We believe our strong position as a Leader in the Gartner Magic Quadrant report underscores our unique position to meet the CSO’s demands by offering a fully integrated and effective security awareness and training solution that has helped our customers change end user behavior and reduce overall security risk,” said Joe Ferrara, Wombat’s President and CEO. “Our customers consistently recognize and acknowledge the exceptional service they receive as a Wombat customer and their employees regularly comment on the quality of the training and how much they enjoy it.”

According to Gartner, “Employees' actions can detrimentally impact security and risk performance. CISOs and employee communication leaders are increasingly turning to educational security awareness solutions to help improve organizational compliance, expand security knowledge and change poor security behaviors.”

Using the Wombat Security Awareness and Training Methodology, customers have notably minimized their risk through reduced malware infections (up to 95%), reduced successful phishing attacks (up to 90%), fewer helpdesk calls, increased reporting of incidents by employees, all while improving their overall security posture.

In addition to a robust security training platform, Wombat features security assessment tools to give CSOs important insights into employee susceptibility.  Customers can pair CyberStrength® knowledge assessments with PhishGuru®, SmishGuru®, and USBGuru® simulated attack programs for a comprehensive view of an organization’s potential vulnerabilities — and manage them all from a single, easy-to-use platform that’s purpose-built for security officers.

“Employees are a target for threat actors and organizations need to have an ever-present security program to continually educate and test their environments for vulnerabilities.” said Jaime Mehra, Product Management, Dell SecureWorks. “Dell SecureWorks Managed Phishing and Managed Security Awareness Programs, leveraging Wombat’s Security Training Tools, are helping our clients foster a solid culture of security awareness and develop vigilant employees, which is key when combating cyber threats.”
